The founders
Ebury was founded in 2009 by Juan Lobato, a serial entrepreneur,
and Salvador García, an expert in Financial Services.

Juan Lobato Co-CEO & Co-Founder
Juan is a tech entrepreneur based out of London. Juan is cofounder and co-CEO of Ebury, one of European fastest growing fintechs. Juan is also a Venture Partner with 83North, one of the top global venture capital firms. Before Ebury Juan was CEO of Beam.tv (a digital distribution network for short and long form content sold to Carlyle private equity) , CEO of BaseKit (one of Europe’s top web building platforms with over 2 million subscribers). Juan was also a consultant with Mckinsey & Co. in London. Juan is investor in over a dozen tech companies across the UK, Europe and the US.
Juan holds master degrees in Electrical Engineering and Economics by Universidad Politecnica Madrid. He also graduated as a lieutenant with the Spanish Army.

Salvador García Co-CEO & Co-Founder
Salvador has led the creation and growth of Ebury. His passion and expertise have enabled Ebury to become one of Europe’s most successful fintech businesses, offering SMEs the financial products required to grow across international boundaries. Salvador began his career as a Proprietary Trader. He has worked with world-leading investment banks and hedge funds across Europe including ABN Amro, Rabobank and Vega Capital, where he held senior positions on the FX and interest rate derivatives proprietary trading desks.
He holds a Masters degree in Engineering and studied Finance at the London School of Economics.

As a regulated entity we are expected to meet standards of good market practice which include:
Capital Adequacy – The levels of capital requirements are based on our level of activity. The FCA and NBB reviews our capital adequacy on an annual basis.
Client Protection – Our client funds are held in segregated accounts held by credit institutions. They are held entirely separate from our own operating accounts, to ensure compliance with the regulatory requirement to keep clients funds protected.
Robust Internal Risk Management – We have strict governance and operational processes in place to scrutinise the accuracy of each of our transactions, with appropriate involvement from our Directors. Compliance with our governance and processes is regularly audited.
As a regulated Payments Institution in Belgium, Ebury is able to passport its licence to offer its services in all EEA Members states.
